Sequoia Emmanuelle: Colorful Vision

On this video interview LA based photographer and artist Sequoia Emmanuelle talks with Josh Haftel from Adobe about her work, her creative process and her unique approach to color.

Emmanuelle in not just a photographer, she also creates her own sets and make some of the model’s clothes and do all the work on the special effects that you can see in her final images. Emmanuelle’s mom was a seamstress and her stepfather was a photographer, so for her photography and fashion always been a big part of her life.

One of the interesting things Emmanuelle mentions about her creative process in this interview is that in many cases she discovers that a specific shoot doesn’t feel right but putting it aside for a while might give her time to change her mind and get back to those images with a different perspective.

Playing with colors is a big aspect of Emmanuelle’s work but unlike many other photographers – it isn’t just lighting colors or playing with colors in post production but actual colors (like her work with painted glass and creating a colourful environments.
