About a year ago photographer Dave Dugdale published this very comprehensive video, comparing 4 of the most popular ENG Wireless Mic Systems used by video and HDSLR photographers today. We have been getting many requests on this subject and Dugdale’s video is just what can help you choose the right unit for your needs.
The 4 wireless mic systems tested on this video are:
- Sennheiser EW112-p G3 – which currently sells from $530-$630 on Amazon (be sure to get the right version you need).
- Sony UWP-V1 – which currently starts at about $500 on Amazon.
- Shure FP – which currently starts at about $500 on Amazon.
- Azden 330LT – which sells for $765 on Amazon.
As you can see in the video, Dugdale had some serious reservations about the Azden and quite a few negative things about the Shure. The Sennheiser and Sony have proven o be pretty neck to neck on this comparison.
You can find some more info on the four units and what Dugdale think about each and every one of them on his original post.
