9.Solutions C-Pan Arm is Part Slider and Part Jib

We are still following some of the interesting announcements from NAB 2016 and this time we have something really unique from the innovative Taiwanese photography and videography accessory manufacturer 9.Solutions which created a special arm called C-Pan for video work.

On this video the guys from nofilmschool talk to 9.Solutions representative who demonstrates how the C-Pan arm works. The idea behind this heavy duty arm is to combine the functionality of both a curve slider and a jib (at least to some degree).

According to 9.Solutions when making a straight pan, the arm functions as a traditional straight-track dolly slider, but without the tracks, where it can pan in a range of 3 1/2 times its folded length (which is approx. 55 cm). It can carry 8 or 6 kg camera/lens combo (horizontally/vertically) and has a 3/8 connection on the bottom for attaching a tripod (you better use a heavy duty one as this thing isn’t exactly super light and it moves).

A second video of the C-Pan this time by the guys from Newsshooters

The unit shown on NAB is a prototype, but a production unit should be available by June for around $2200 (here is the product page on the 9.Solutions website).
