Edelkrone Motion BOX First Look

Turkish manufacturer Edelkrone announced a pocket-sized motion control for video and timelapse shooting that can pan and tilt using an advanced app and can also function as a turntable and do a few other neat things.

The Motion BOX is a small multi-task unit that can pan or tilt (and if you use two units can do both at the same time). The Edelkrone Motion BOX has many similarities to the Syrp Genie Mini which we reviewed here a few years back (and really loved – and are actually still using today). It is, however, part of the growing Edelkrone ecosystem and uses their own advanced app.

It can be used on its own on a flat surface (with the camera attached directly or with a head), but it can also work with many other Edelkrone products including the new small SliderONE PRO, a Skater Kit or with an accessory round plate be used as a motorized turntable.

The unit is really small and light (18.3 oz or 520 g) but can carry up to 15 lb or 6.8 kg of gear. We are currently in the process of testing two other Edelkrone products and we will have a review ready in the next few weeks. We hope that we could also test the Motion BOX a bit later on this year.

The Motion BOX sells for just under $285 (it also can be purchased as part of several different kits with other products/accessories including a tilt kit, FlexTILT Head 2, skater unit, etc.).
