Earlier today Fujifilm introduced its new weather-resistant zoom lens – the XF 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR with what it claims is the best image stabilization system of any lens on the market.
The video above is a quick comparison between the existing Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 and the new Fujinon XF18-135mm F3.5-5.6 in terms of optical stabilization. As you can see the Fuji seems to be able to stabilize the image up to some very (very) slow shutter speeds – way more than the OS system on the Canon.
The lens itself seems to be built better and of course it is weather-resistant as well (including a special system to prevent dust from getting into the lens when the zoom is open). All these features do not come cheap and the lens should set you back around $900.
Below is a quick unboxing of the new XF18-135mm F3.5-5.6
