Emily Ainsworth: Inside a Mexican Circus

London based National Geographic photographer Emily Ainsworth recently gave a talk as part of the National Geographic Live! series of lectures on her photographic experience shooting inside a Mexican circus.

Ainsworth was offered a job as a dancer in the Mexican circus after one of the previous performers was eaten by a large cat from the show – against all logic she agreed and was introduced to the amazing lives of the circus performers. She was even taught how to French kiss a tiger and dodge bullets and eventually became a friend of some of the performers.

Ainsworth was so enchanted by the circus that she gone back to the circus no less than 3 times in recent years shooting in very intimate situations that very few other photographers had the chance to record.

Ainsworth story is just one of many you can find on LensVid’s photographers channel.
