How to Take High-Key Pictures Tutorial

On this video photographer Tony Northrup shares a few tips on how to shoot high-key portraits where the background is intentionally blown out. These sort of images are used all the time in commercial photography and are really something you need to learn how to master if you want to progress as a photographer.

Northrup shows how to shoot high-key portraits in both a studio environment and a more basic (low cost) situation where  you only relay on a small number of simple lights.

One last thing – we simply love Northrup’s videos – they are straightforward, easy to understand and well made, but they do tend to get a bit too self promotional (yes, everybody needs to make a living, but there is something to be said for minimalism in this respect).
