Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 vs. Canon 24-105 f/4 Review

This extensive comparison video by photographers Tony and Chelsea Northrup takes a look at two “walking around lenses” – the new Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 and the Canon 24-105 f/4.

In terms of pricing the two are very similar with the Tamron SP 24-70mm Di VC USD going for $1035 at Amazon, while the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM goes for $1150 (also on Amazon).

What we found interesting is what happened to the Tamron after it got a hit (see 12:00 on the video) – we heard of similar construction issues ourselves so make sure you take good care of this lens.

In the past we already published the excellent comparison of the Canon 24-70 f/2.8L II USM and Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC USD by Matthew Gore, so if you are torn between those two you should definitely watch the video.
